The Dyson Airstrait™ straightener straightens with precisely directional airflow, without hot plates or extreme heat. This is generated by the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor, which can spin up to 106,000 times per minute and create the tension and power needed to straighten as the hair dries. The styling performance of the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener also depends on the airflow path within the device and the arrangement of the different blades, which project precise jets of air, oriented at 45° to best penetrate the hair cuticle.

Your routine, simplified:

Save time with the Dyson Airstrait™: straighten as you dry and start styling straight from the shower, thanks to the “Damp” mode that lets you straighten and dry wet hair simultaneously with one device. Select “Dry” mode to style or touch up dry hair.

A natural smooth finish with volume and movement:

Designed to work with all hair types, the Dyson Airstrait™ dries, relaxes, and/or straightens wet and dry hair. Adjust the temperature and airflow speed settings to suit your hair type and density, and your desired result—naturally straight or relaxed. Using air, not extreme heat, gives your hair body and volume, while giving it movement and bounce.

Without thermal damage*:

When hair is wet, the hydrogen bonds in the hair fiber are temporarily broken, making it much more malleable. Straightening wet hair with the Dyson Airstrait™ therefore requires less heat. The “Damp” mode has three lower temperature settings (80°, 110° & 140°). The Dyson Airstrait™ also features bead thermistors on each side of the device, which allow for intelligent temperature control.

A smart and ergonomic design:

Every element of the Dyson Airstrait™ has been designed and optimized for greater user comfort. Small and powerful, the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor measures just 27 mm, for a lightweight, easy-to-grip design. Its turbine blades have been resculpted to minimize speed oscillations, eliminating motor squeals. The blades distributed along the plates have also been designed along the X, Y, and Z axes to ensure optimal distribution of warm air. For precise and powerful drying.
